Upon his release, Firoz was greeted at the prison gates by supporters who garlanded him before escorting him back to Gurudaspur in a convoy of over 200 vehicles. Later that evening, he addressed a gathering of several hundred people in Nazirpur, delivering an aggressive speech questioning the judiciary and promising retribution.

“Consider the extent of corruption when I am handed a life sentence based on the testimony of just four witnesses,” Firoz told the crowd. “There are thousands here today who bear witness to what my opponents have done. Justice will be served, and I promise you that their trial will take place right here on the soil of Nazirpur.”

Footage of his speech spread rapidly across social media platforms, sparking intense criticism from rights activists and local residents.

Firoz, the headmaster of Nazirpur Marium Memorial Girls’ High School, was arrested in October 2022 by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-5) officers at a hotel in Kaliakair, Gazipur. Ten days earlier, on 1 October 2022, he had abducted a Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinee from the school gates in broad daylight, forcing her into a microbus before taking her to a hotel in Rajshahi, where he assaulted her and filmed the crime.

Following a detailed investigation, the Rajshahi Speedy Trial Tribunal found Firoz guilty under two distinct sections on 11 November 2025. Judge Malhiduzzaman Muhit sentenced him to life imprisonment for rape and an additional ten years of rigorous imprisonment for abduction, whilst acquitting his two brothers due to lack of evidence.

Public Prosecutor Munshi Abul Kalam Azad confirmed that the police final report, witness testimony, and video evidence conclusively proved Firoz’s guilt. However, after serving just 11 months of his sentence, Firoz obtained bail pending appeal.

The victim’s father expressed deep distress over the convict’s immediate intimidation tactics, stating that his family now lives in constant fear. “For three years, he tried to bribe and threaten us to drop the case, but we persevered for our daughter’s dignity,” he said. “Now that he is out, he is threatening to kill me and settle scores on Nazirpur soil. We feel completely unprotected.”

Officer-in-Charge of Gurudaspur Police Station, Abdul Hannan, stated that law enforcement authorities are aware of the situation and assured that formal legal measures will be taken if a written complaint regarding threats is submitted by the family.
