Manikganj district has recorded 21 new cases of dengue fever over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections across public and private healthcare facilities this year to 1,176. According to the daily bulletin released by the district health department on Wednesday, 30 September, 17 of the newly identified patients were admitted to government hospitals, whilst four sought treatment at private clinics and facilities. No fresh fatalities were reported during this period.
Breakdowns provided by health authorities indicate that eight of the new admissions were registered at Manikganj Medical College Hospital, seven at the 250-bed Manikganj District Hospital, and two at the Saturia Upazila Health Complex. In the private sector, Monno Medical College Hospital identified four cases within the same timeframe.
Currently, 79 dengue patients are undergoing treatment across various state-run medical facilities in the district. Meanwhile, 24 individuals were discharged over the last 24 hours following recovery. Out of the 1,176 cumulative cases identified since January, 1,097 patients have successfully recovered and returned home, whilst one fatality has been officially recorded in the district so far this year.
Statistics compiled by the district health administration show that public hospitals have treated 878 dengue cases from January through 30 September. Manikganj Medical College Hospital accounted for the highest load with 281 patients, followed closely by the district headquarters hospital with 248 cases.
Across the upazilas, Saturia registered 137 cases, Ghior reported 60, Singair and Shibalaya recorded 42 cases each, Harirampur logged 39, and Daulatpur treated 29 patients. Additionally, private hospitals and clinics across Manikganj have diagnosed a combined total of 298 dengue patients during the same period.
Health officials continue to monitor hospital capacity and urge residents to eliminate potential Aedes mosquito breeding sites in and around residential areas as seasonal transmission persists.
