The incident occurred in the Munshi Mondoltola area under Maharajpur Union. Local residents navigating through the rural agricultural patch first noticed three suspicious plastic buckets abandoned amidst the dense foliage of a local lemon grove. Sensing immediate danger owing to the unusual placement and appearance of the containers, alert community members notified the local authorities without delay.

Upon receiving the emergency telephone call around 9:30 pm on Sunday, 11 October, a team from the local police station rushed to the scene. Recognizing the severe hazards posed by potential live explosives, officers took immediate precautions.

Additional Superintendent of Police in Chapainawabganj, Ikramul Haq, stated that law enforcement officers quickly established a protective cordon around the three buckets. Police maintained a strict security perimeter, keeping curious bystanders at a safe distance while awaiting specialized technical support to examine the contents of the buckets.

Shortly thereafter, a specialized bomb disposal unit attached to the Rajshahi Camp of the elite battalion RAB-5 arrived at the scene. Operating with specialized equipment and meticulous care, the bomb disposal squad systematically inspected the containers and safely extracted seventeen crude improvised explosive devices, locally known as cocktails.

Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Tarikul Islam, Company Commander of the RAB Rajshahi Camp, confirmed the successful completion of the recovery operation. He stated that law enforcement agencies have initiated a thorough investigation to identify the individuals responsible for manufacturing, transporting, and concealing the explosive cache in the agricultural plot. Police and security personnel are currently conducting local inquiries to determine whether the explosives were stashed for upcoming criminal activities or political instability, reassuring residents that necessary legal and security measures are actively underway.
