The Fire Service received information about the fire at approximately 12.25pm. According to Talha Bin Jasim, a station officer with the Fire Service, the blaze broke out at the factory in Narikelbag, prompting workers and local residents to attempt to extinguish it while emergency services were alerted.
Eight Fire Service units subsequently arrived at the scene and began firefighting operations. Their teams worked to contain the flames and prevent the situation from worsening. After more than an hour of operations, the fire was brought under control at around 2pm.
During the operation, firefighters recovered the body of one person from the premises, Talha Bin Jasim confirmed. The identity of the deceased had not been established immediately after the recovery, and no further details about the individual were available at the time of reporting.
The incident has raised concerns over the risks associated with fires at industrial facilities, particularly factories that handle or store plastic materials. Depending on the materials present and the layout of a building, flames can spread rapidly, making firefighting and rescue operations more challenging.
In such incidents, emergency responders must not only contain the fire but also search the affected premises for anyone who may be trapped. Identifying the source of the blaze and assessing the extent of the damage are also important steps in establishing what happened.
However, the precise cause of the fire at Aman Plastic Factory has not yet been confirmed. There was also no immediate information about the extent of the damage to the factory or whether anyone else had been injured or affected.
Further details about the circumstances surrounding the fire, the identity of the deceased and the possible cause of the incident were not immediately available.
The recovery of the body marks the most serious reported consequence of the incident so far. The circumstances leading to the fire, along with the full extent of its impact, remain to be established.
