“Paris Saint-Germain are delighted to welcome Lucas Chevalier into our family,” said club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi on the club’s official website. The 23-year-old goalkeeper has signed a contract extending until 2030.

Chevalier expressed his excitement, stating, “I’m a kid who is living his dream.”

Although Chevalier has been part of various France youth squads, he has yet to make his senior international debut.

Chevalier was particularly impressive during Lille’s run to the last 16 of last season’s UEFA Champions League, delivering standout performances in a 1-0 home victory over Real Madrid and a 3-1 away win against Atletico Madrid.

Meanwhile, PSG secured a treble last season, winning the Champions League, Ligue 1, and the French Cup with Italian star Gianluigi Donnarumma as first-choice goalkeeper. Donnarumma was backed up by Russian Matvey Safonov and Spaniard Arnau Tenas, both of whom remain at the club.

Chevalier is PSG’s second goalkeeper signing this summer, following the acquisition of Italian-Brazilian teenager Renato Marin.
