The Election Commission (EC) has released a draft supplementary voter list nationwide in preparation for the 13th general elections.
Figures on Voter Registration
Briefing reporters outside Nirbachan Bhaban in Agargaon, Dhaka, today, EC Senior Secretary Akhter Ahmed provided detailed statistics as of 30 June 2025:
| Category | Number of Voters |
| Total Voters | 126,170,900 |
| Male Voters | 64,006,916 |
| Female Voters | 62,162,760 |
He noted that the voter inclusion rate in 2025 stands at 3.69%, with a 1.97% increase in the total number of voters compared to earlier figures.
Comparison with Previous Voter List
On 2 March 2025, the total number of registered voters was 123,732,274. Since then, a door-to-door campaign was conducted to re-register excluded voters, leading to the addition of 4,571,216 new voters in the updated list.
Simultaneously, 2,132,590 voters were removed from the list due to death or other reasons, bringing the current total to 126,170,900.
Publication and Correction Process
The draft supplementary voter list has been published at all EC offices nationwide today. The Commission has invited the public to report any corrections or discrepancies.
“We will finalise the draft voter list by 31 August,” the Senior Secretary stated. “Furthermore, we will publish another list including those who will turn 18 by 31 October. This provision in the new law ensures new voters do not have to wait a full year to register.”
