Bangladesh Cricketers Head to Sylhet for Final Training Phase

The Bangladesh national cricket team is set to arrive in Sylhet this evening to commence the final phase of preparations ahead of the upcoming Netherlands series and the Asia Cup. The team is scheduled to depart Dhaka at 7:30 pm.

Training Venue and Focus

  • A Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official confirmed that the main training sessions will take place in Sylhet.
  • Prior to this, players have completed extensive fitness drills in Dhaka, including:
    • 1600-metre time trials
    • Gym workouts
    • Running and acrobatic exercises
    • Skill-based cricket training
  • The decision to hold training in Sylhet was influenced by the nature of the Mirpur pitch, which is considered sluggish and not ideal for Asia Cup preparation in the UAE. Consequently, the three-match T20 International series against the Netherlands has also been scheduled in Sylhet.

Netherlands Series Schedule

  • The Netherlands team is expected to arrive in Bangladesh on 26 August.
  • The T20Is will take place at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on:

    • 3 September
  • Following the series, Bangladesh will travel to the UAE to compete in the Asia Cup.
