Bollywood’s much-loved legal-comedy franchise Jolly LLB has now itself landed in legal trouble. A civil court in Pune has issued notices to actor Akshay Kumar, actor Arshad Warsi, and director Subhash Kapoor, following allegations that the forthcoming instalment, Jolly LLB 3, mocks the judiciary and court system.
The case was filed by lawyer Wajed Rahim Khan, who claimed that several scenes in the film demean lawyers and judges.
The court has now directed Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi and Subhash Kapoor to appear in person on 28 October 2025 at 11 a.m.
The controversy traces back to 2024, when the teaser of the film was released. Before the court’s notice, Chandravhan Singh Rathore, President of the Ajmer District Bar Association, also voiced strong criticism:
