The Young Man in Maroon Clothing is Not from the DB: Head of DMP’s DB

The young man wearing maroon clothing, who attacked the members of the Gono Adhikar Parishad in Kakrail, is not affiliated with the Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), confirmed Shafiqul Islam, the head of DMP’s DB. He also mentioned that the matter is under investigation.

It is worth noting that a clash occurred on Friday night (29th August) between the leaders and activists of the Gono Adhikar Parishad and the Jatiya Party in the Bijoynagar area of the capital. To control the situation, the police and army used batons. Several leaders and activists from the Gono Adhikar Parishad, including its president Nurul Haq Nur and general secretary Md. Rashed, were injured during the confrontation.

In a video that has since spread, a man wearing a red T-shirt can be seen severely beating another individual.
