Bollywood superstar Salman Khan paid a visit to the residence of India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Sunday, 1 September. The unexpected meeting has sparked widespread speculation about the purpose of the discussion.
According to close sources, the meeting was related to the upcoming shoot of Salman Khan’s film ‘Battle of Galwan’, scheduled to commence in Leh-Ladakh from 6 September. Several scenes in the movie require special clearance from the Ministry of Defence, prompting the actor to meet the minister directly.
The film is based on the India-China conflict of 2020, with Salman portraying Colonel Vikramalla Santosh Babu. He has been undergoing intense preparation for the role over the past two months, including daily rigorous exercises and training in a pressure chamber to authentically depict the army officer’s resilience.
Some preliminary scenes were filmed in August 2025, but the major action sequences will be shot in Leh-Ladakh, necessitating special authorisation from the Defence Ministry.
Recently, Salman shared a teaser poster from the film, showcasing him in full military attire, with a fierce and vengeful expression. Fans have expressed immense excitement, recalling Salman’s iconic ‘Dabangg’ persona after a long time.
The movie is directed by Apurva Lakhia, known for ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’, with Chitrangada Singh playing the female lead. Anticipation among audiences and fans is high, with many predicting the film could earn over 500 crore INR at the box office.
Earlier this year, Salman’s film ‘Sikandar’ released but did not meet box office expectations, leaving him somewhat disappointed. With ‘Battle of Galwan’, built around themes of patriotism, Salman hopes to make a strong comeback and captivate audiences with a powerful performance.
