Shreelekha Breaks Silence on Romance Rumours with Ferdous

Friendships and romantic rumours among Tollywood and Tollywood actors are nothing new. Such whispers frequently circulate within the entertainment world, often catching the attention of fans and netizens. Recently, one such rumour about Shreelekha Mitra and Bangladeshi actor Ferdous Ahmed has sparked considerable discussion online.

In an interview with Indian media, Shreelekha addressed the speculation directly. She explained: “Director Swapan Saha had mentioned my name for a Bangladeshi film titled Singha Purush. Ferdous played the role of the second hero in that movie. That was how I got to know him when I went to Bangladesh for the project.”

The report notes that Shreelekha was impressed by Ferdous’ calm and gentle demeanour.

Upon returning to Kolkata, Shreelekha received calls from several directors, including Basu Chatterjee, who was planning a film titled Hotath Brishti and was looking for a lead actor.

“I mentioned Ferdous’ name to Basu. Because of my suggestion, he made his entry into Tollywood. Does that mean there was romance? Absolutely not! Simply giving a director an actor’s name does not imply love. I have suggested many actors and actresses to directors over the years, and it has never been a romantic matter,” Shreelekha clarified.
