Bollywood’s evergreen actress Rekha has long captivated audiences not only with her extraordinary acting skills but also with the constant curiosity surrounding her personal life. From rumours of a relationship with Amitabh Bachchan to the tragic death of her husband Mukesh Agarwal, Rekha’s life often reads like a cinematic script.

Throughout her lengthy career, numerous rumours and stories have surrounded Rekha. One particular tale has resurfaced after forty years—her alleged romance with Pakistan’s former cricketer and politician, Imran Khan.

At the time, Imran Khan’s popularity was at its peak, with a significant fan following in India. Rekha was reportedly seen accompanying him at parties and special events, which naturally sparked gossip. Questions arose: were they merely friends, or was there something deeper?

Interestingly, Rekha’s mother is said to have favoured Imran Khan as a potential suitor. She reportedly consulted an astrologer to determine whether Imran would be a suitable life partner for her daughter. The exact advice given by the astrologer, however, remains unknown to this day.

Despite widespread media coverage and constant speculation, the relationship never progressed formally. Neither Rekha nor Imran publicly acknowledged a romance, and marriage was never on the table.

Yet, this chapter of their lives continues to linger as a “mystery tale” in both Bollywood and the cricket world. Whenever gossip columns revisit the story, public curiosity and fascination are reignited.
