A drug trafficker identified as Raju Molla (32) has been arrested by the Airport Armed Police Battalion (APBn) at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka, while attempting to smuggle yaba tablets concealed inside his stomach.
The suspect was apprehended on Tuesday night upon arrival from Cox’s Bazar on Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BS-142. Acting on a tip-off, APBn officers detained him from the northern side of the Balaka Bhaban (Balaka Building) at the airport premises.
Subsequently, an X-ray scan revealed 20 oval-shaped capsules inside his stomach. Under the supervision of doctors at Kurmitola General Hospital, the capsules were later expelled naturally. Upon inspection, law enforcement recovered 1,000 yaba tablets, carefully wrapped in 20 individual packets.

Speaking on the matter, Anita Rani Sutradhar, Additional Superintendent of Police (Operations), APBn, said: “We are working strictly to ensure that the airport is not used as a hub for any criminal activity.”
Following the seizure, a case has been lodged at the Airport Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act.
