Argentina eliminated from the World Cup

The Argentina national team has been performing brilliantly on the football field. Since winning the World Cup, they have been in great form. The team was also the champion of the last World Cup. With the aim of winning a title, Argentina’s youth team started their campaign in the U17 World Cup in Qatar. However, they were eliminated from the ongoing tournament after losing to Mexico.

Argentina’s journey in the Qatar Youth World Cup ended dramatically. After a 2-2 draw with Mexico in regulation time, they lost 4-2 in a tiebreaker and were eliminated from the tournament.

Argentina played excellently in the group stage. They won three consecutive matches: 3-2 against Belgium, 1-0 against Tunisia, and 7-0 against Fiji, advancing to the knockout stage. However, their World Cup dream ended there after the defeat.

From Group F, Mexico advanced to the Round of 16. Saudi Arabia was also tied with three points, but Mexico progressed due to a fair play ranking. These three points came from a 1-0 win over Ivory Coast; they had lost to South Korea and Switzerland.

In the knockout stage, Argentina’s failure in the tiebreaker determined their fate. Despite fighting hard, Messi’s successors ended their World Cup mission outside the quarterfinals.
