A violent armed robbery in Gazipur on Sunday night, 8 March 2026, has left a salesman critically injured and highlighted growing concerns over public safety and street crime in the city. The incident occurred in the Gazipura area under Gacha Police Station at approximately 9 p.m., when three masked assailants attacked personnel involved in the distribution operations of Parachute Coconut Oil Company.

According to reports, the victims included a company salesman, a private car driver, and their colleagues, who were transporting cash collected from business transactions. The robbers intercepted them, forcibly seizing 181,000 Bangladeshi Taka in cash along with a mobile phone. In the course of the assault, the primary distributor, Selim (37), sustained severe stab wounds while resisting the robbery.
