Babar Rejects Kohli Comparison Talk

During a post-match media interaction in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Pakistan captain Babar Azam appeared increasingly frustrated when questions once again turned towards comparisons with India’s batting icon Virat Kohli. “Sometimes you feel the ball is coming nicely, but you cannot find the timing. Even good shots go straight to fielders. You try, but you still do not get the runs,” he added.

Babar also reflected on criticism directed at his strike rate and finishing ability in limited-overs cricket. He reiterated the importance of maintaining belief in one’s method and long-term process rather than reacting to short-term scrutiny.

“At such moments, I remind myself of my strengths, my game plan, and my methods. Improvement takes time. Sometimes it takes months. People may think I have not finished games, but I have contributed in many ways,” he explained.

Despite his stature as one of Pakistan’s most accomplished contemporary batters, Babar has frequently faced analysis regarding his tempo in white-ball cricket. Critics often question his ability to accelerate in the closing stages of innings, while supporters highlight his consistency, technique, and reliability across formats.
