In a harrowing accident on Thursday morning (22 January), a passenger bus carrying 33 people overturned on the outskirts of Pangsha in Rajbari district. The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 am near the Maishala bus stand along the Rajbari-Kushtia regional highway. At least three passengers sustained injuries and were rushed to the nearby health facility for treatment.
Eyewitnesses reported that the bus lost control after its wheels slipped on the muddy road, which had become treacherous due to recent rains. The vehicle veered off the road and overturned, causing panic among the passengers. Authorities confirmed that the bus was carrying a total of 33 passengers at the time of the accident.

All three were immediately taken to Pangsha Upazila Health Complex, where they received preliminary medical treatment. According to Officer-in-Charge Maksudur Rahman Murad of Pangsha Highway Police Station, the team arrived promptly at the scene upon receiving news of the accident and assisted in ensuring the safety of the passengers while facilitating medical care.
Authorities have noted that poor road conditions combined with possible driver misjudgement contributed to the accident. Local residents have highlighted the need for improved road maintenance, particularly during the rainy season when roads become slippery and hazardous.
