Construction Worker Beaten to Death on Suspicion of Theft in Narayanganj

A construction worker named Parvez (30) has reportedly been beaten to death on suspicion of theft in Bandar, Narayanganj. The incident occurred on Monday (24 November) morning at the residence of Mesbah Uddin in the Sonachora area of Bandar.

Parvez, son of the late Tara Mia from the Barmashil area of Siddhirganj, had been living as a tenant at the house of Bulbul Misha in the Dhakeshwari area of Bandar.

His wife, Khadija Begum, alleged that her husband was not a thief but a construction worker. She claimed that he was detained at night and beaten to death after being accused of stealing electrical wires. She demanded a proper investigation and justice for the killing.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bandar Police Station, Liakat Ali, said that police recovered the body from Mesbah Uddin’s house and sent it to the Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination. He added that a police operation is underway to arrest the suspects and take legal action against them.
