Dhaka University’s five buildings’ gates were locked by BCL

Chhatra League has locked the main gates of five buildings of Dhaka University (DU) at midnight. The action was taken as part of their announced “lockdown program” scheduled for Wednesday (November 13).

The incident occurred late Tuesday night (November 11).

The locked gates include those of the Faculty of Fine Arts, the Institute of Education and Research (IER), the Institute of Nutrition and Food Science, Curzon Hall, and the Science Building.

Professor Saifuddin Ahmed, the university’s proctor, said that the security personnel assigned to those gates have been temporarily withdrawn.

He further stated that assistant proctors have visited the spot and are checking whether CCTV cameras are present there. He warned that such activities will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
