On Monday, the second working day of the week, trading continued in the country’s currency market. Today, the price of the dollar has slightly decreased.
After several days of consecutive rises, the dollar’s value had fallen last week. From last Wednesday, it began to rise again. Although yesterday it remained unchanged, today it has dipped slightly.
According to Bangladesh Bank data, today the dollar’s highest rate is 122.30 BDT and the lowest is 122.28 BDT. The average rate stands at 122.28 BDT. The dollar’s value has been fluctuating from July to December.
Most foreign currencies in the domestic market have fallen today, including the euro, pound, rupee, Australian dollar, and Singapore dollar. No currency has risen today, while the yuan and yen remain unchanged.
Open market rates are slightly higher than the foreign currency rates published by the central bank. Fluctuations in exchange rates also affect the cost of domestic trade and business.
