Police have recovered the body of a farmer named Ishaq Ali (65) with his hands and feet tied from a paddy field in Rangiarpota village under Jhenaidah Sadar upazila.
The body was recovered around 6:30 a.m. on Thursday (October 30) from Botdari field, located along the Bonkira–Rangiarpota road in the Sadar upazila.
The deceased, Ishaq Ali, was the son of the late Rustam Ali of Rangiarpota village.
According to locals, early in the morning, farmers noticed Ishaq Ali’s body lying on the edge of a paddy field beside the road. They immediately informed the police, who later recovered the body and sent it to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Family members of the deceased alleged that the killers tied Ishaq Ali’s hands and feet before murdering him. They said they would file a case over the incident and demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Anisur Rahman, in-charge of the Dakbangla Police Camp, said, “It is suspected that the miscreants tied his legs, strangled him to death, and then dumped the body at the spot. Efforts are underway to identify those involved and bring them to justice as soon as possible.”
