New Zealand alternative rock sensation Ollie Bunnie has released his much-anticipated debut single, Show Me Rivers, marking the first glimpse of his upcoming album, Endless Doors. Released on 18 February 2026, the track is a heartfelt ode to love, companionship, and community, blending emotive lyrics with a powerful rock sound.
Recorded live at 13 Garrett Street, Te Whanganui a Tara (Wellington) and produced by Connor Lyttle, Show Me Rivers features Ollie Warren alongside his closest collaborators: Chris Simpson on bass, Marcus Laurence on lead guitar, and Alex Martin on drums. The single encapsulates the passionate and expansive energy listeners can expect from Ollie Bunnie’s debut album, offering an early taste of his signature alternative rock style.
“Show Me Rivers is a confession of gratitude,” Ollie explains. “It celebrates the people, places, and experiences that have shaped me—my partner, my community, and my home.”
Hailing from Te Whanganui a Tara, Ollie Bunnie is a multifaceted artist: a singer-songwriter, performer, event organiser at 13 Garrett Street, and radio host at Radioactive.fm. His music draws on a diverse palette, blending rock, folk, funk, and jazz into honest, evocative compositions that resonate deeply with Aotearoa’s music aficionados.
Ollie’s journey began in the early 2010s as a therapeutic pursuit following his mother’s cancer diagnosis. Inspired by a second-hand guitar, he found solace and self-expression in songwriting and performance. At 13, he staged his first show with a teenage metal band. Following his mother’s passing, he left school to pursue music more seriously, studying at MAINZ and Massey University, and co-founding the funk/rock project Munkhouse with classmates and friends. In 2020, Ollie and five bandmates—including Chris Simpson and Alex Martin—relocated from Auckland to Wellington, only to face creative slowdowns due to the pandemic lockdowns.
Since then, Ollie has cemented his presence in Wellington’s music scene, contributing as both a performer and organiser through platforms such as Eyegum, 13 Garrett Street, and Radioactive.fm. He remains a dedicated advocate for the underground music culture of Aotearoa.
Fans of The Beths, Dave Dobbyn, Split Enz, Theo Katzman, Alabama Shakes, Geese, and Pond are likely to be captivated by Ollie Bunnie’s dynamic sound, which balances introspective lyrics with infectious energy.
