His remarks were delivered in a video address released by the Kremlin on Defenders of the Fatherland Day, a national holiday honoring military personnel.

As Russia approaches the third anniversary of its large-scale military campaign in Ukraine, Putin emphasized the ongoing commitment to strengthening the country’s armed forces in an evolving global landscape.

“Today, at the risk of their lives and with courage, they are resolutely defending their homeland, national interests, and Russia’s future,” he said.

Putin also pledged to enhance the combat readiness of the Russian military, highlighting that a strong army and navy are crucial components of national security and sovereignty.
