Grand Parade at National Square

A grand military parade and a spectacular flypast were held at the National Parade Square adjacent to the old airport in the capital on the occasion of the Great Independence and National Day. Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, alongside senior government officials, foreign diplomats, and distinguished guests. Shortly after 10 a.m., President Md. Shahabuddin arrived at the venue, where he was received by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. A formal guard of honour was presented in his welcome. Following this, the President inspected the parade ground and took the ceremonial salute, acknowledging the disciplined formations of the armed forces.

The parade featured coordinated contingents from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, all demonstrating precision marching and operational readiness. Various military displays highlighted the evolution of the country’s defence capabilities, while the concluding flypast captivated the audience with synchronized aerial manoeuvres.

The event was attended by members of the Cabinet, senior civil and military officials, foreign diplomatic representatives, and invited dignitaries, including Ms Jameema Rahman, daughter of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
