Sadhani Life Insurance Company Limited has reached a new height in corporate governance, setting an inspiring example of consistency, transparency, and institutional accountability within Bangladesh’s financial sector. In recognition of its sustained excellence, the company has secured the Silver Award for the second time in the Life Insurance category at the 12th ICSB National Award 2024. Industry observers describe this back-to-back achievement not merely as a ceremonial honour, but as a strong endorsement of Sadhani Life’s long-term commitment to ethical conduct, modern corporate management, and responsible business practices.
The ICSB National Award is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious recognitions in the country’s corporate arena. It is conferred following a rigorous and multi-layered evaluation of both listed and non-listed organisations. The assessment framework examines corporate governance structures, the quality and credibility of financial reporting, transparency in operations, adherence to ethical standards, and accountability towards shareholders and other stakeholders. By meeting these demanding criteria consistently, Sadhani Life Insurance Company Limited has once again demonstrated its position as a disciplined, transparent, and forward-looking institution.
The award-giving ceremony was attended by several prominent policymakers and corporate leaders, reflecting the national importance of good governance in economic development. The chief guest, Adviser to the Ministry of Commerce Sheikh Bashir Uddin, emphasised in his address that sustainable economic growth and a stable investment environment are impossible without strong corporate governance. He noted that greater transparency and accountability within the financial sector play a crucial role in strengthening the country’s overall economic foundation.
The event was further enriched by the presence of Lutfe Siddiqi, Special Envoy on International Affairs to the Chief Adviser, as guest of honour. He highlighted the importance of cultivating a culture of professionalism, integrity, and compliance with international standards across corporate Bangladesh. According to him, such practices are essential for building investor confidence and ensuring long-term institutional resilience.
Among the special guests were Finance Ministry Secretary Md Khairuzzaman Majumder and Commerce Ministry Secretary Mahbubur Rahman. The Chairman of the Bangladesh Financial Reporting Council, Dr Md Sajjad Hossain Bhuiyan, along with policymakers, corporate professionals, and industry experts, also attended, turning the occasion into a significant gathering of the country’s corporate leadership.
On behalf of Sadhani Life Insurance Company Limited, Chairman Mujibul Islam and Chief Executive Officer Nimai Kumar Saha formally received the Silver Award. In their remarks, they stated that the recognition was not the achievement of any individual, but the collective outcome of the board of directors, employees, and stakeholders working together with shared values and discipline. They reaffirmed the company’s commitment to prioritising customer interests, transparency, ethical conduct, and good governance in all future endeavours.
Senior officials from both ICSB and Sadhani Life were also present at the ceremony. Stakeholders believe that this recognition will not only motivate Sadhani Life to continue its journey of excellence but will also encourage the wider insurance sector to embrace stronger governance, professionalism, and globally accepted standards, contributing positively to the long-term credibility of the industry.
