In a distinguished gesture of solidarity and responsibility, Bengal Islamic Life Insurance Limited has overseen the formal handover of a Takaful cheque to the family of a late employee of Eco Batteries Limited. The cheque, amounting to BDT 258,400, was disbursed to cover outstanding medical expenses as well as the death benefits owed to Shahidul Islam, a long-serving and respected member of the company’s Sales and Services Division.
The ceremony, held at the Eco Batteries Limited factory premises in Maona, Gazipur, unfolded with a sense of dignity befitting the occasion. It served not only as a moment of remembrance for the departed but also as a reflection of the humane values both organisations claim at the core of their operations.
Presiding over the handover, MM Monirul Alam, Chief Executive Officer of Bengal Islamic Life Insurance Limited, delivered the Takaful cheque to the nominated representative of the bereaved family. His presence signified the company’s steadfast commitment to supporting employees and their families during their most vulnerable moments.
He was accompanied by senior officials, including Md. Mazharul Islam, Head of the Corporate Business Division, and Md. Anisur Rahman Sumon, Head of the Claims Division, whose coordinated efforts ensured the timely settlement of the claim. Eco Batteries Limited was represented by Factory Manager Md. Rafiqul Islam, Manager of Human Resources, Administration and Compliance Md. Jasim Uddin, and Production Manager Md. Ismail Hossain, highlighting the close partnership between the two institutions.
Speakers at the event underscored the significance of the group Takaful arrangement, noting that such schemes provide families with structured, dependable, and ethically managed financial protection. Mr Alam reiterated this principle, stating, “Our group Takaful initiative is designed to ensure that all medical and death-related claims are processed with integrity, transparency, and urgency. This is more than an administrative obligation — it is a sincere expression of our duty of care towards every family connected with our organisation.”
Factory Manager Md. Rafiqul Islam echoed this appreciation, adding, “Through Bengal Islamic Life’s diligent Takaful framework, we were able to extend swift and meaningful assistance to the family of our late colleague. It reaffirms our shared commitment to safeguarding the welfare of those who contribute to our organisation’s success.”
The ceremony ultimately served as a poignant reminder of the essential role Takaful plays in modern corporate welfare. It demonstrated the shared values of empathy, accountability, and responsible governance embraced by both Bengal Islamic Life Insurance Limited and Eco Batteries Limited. By standing beside the family of a valued employee, the two companies reinforced a corporate ethos in which humanity is not merely proclaimed but practised with conviction.
