The accident occurred late Wednesday morning along the busy Dhaka–Sherpur Highway, underscoring ongoing concerns about highway safety in the region.

The crash took place at approximately 11:00 a.m. in front of Kakoli Rice Mill near the Balia intersection in Fulbaria municipality under Phulpur upazila. According to police and rescue officials, a Sherpur-bound passenger bus collided head-on with a Mymensingh-bound vehicle operated by members of the Bangladesh Army. The impact was severe, causing extensive damage to both vehicles and resulting in multiple casualties.
