15-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed in Truck Collision in Chuadanga

A 15-year-old boy was killed after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a truck in Chuadanga on Wednesday afternoon, 22 July. The accident occurred at around 1pm near Alukdia Bazar on the Chuadanga-Meherpur regional road.

The deceased was identified as Abdullah, son of Shahabuddin Biswas of Taltala village in Chuadanga Sadar upazila. According to relatives and eyewitnesses, Abdullah worked at a motorcycle repair shop in the Alukdia Bazar area.

Witnesses said the teenager had taken a motorcycle out for a test ride to identify a mechanical problem after carrying out repair work. He was travelling along the road when he reached an area near a fuel station at Alukdia Bazar. At that point, a truck travelling towards Chuadanga collided with the motorcycle.

The impact threw Abdullah under the truck, leaving him critically injured. He died at the scene, witnesses said.

News of the accident quickly spread through the area, leaving local residents and the victim’s family shocked. The death of a teenager in the crash has also raised fresh concerns about road safety on the busy Chuadanga-Meherpur route, where motorcycles, trucks and other vehicles regularly share the same road.

Local roads often become particularly hazardous when vehicles move through commercial areas such as markets and fuel stations, where traffic can be mixed with pedestrians, roadside businesses and vehicles entering or leaving the main carriageway. Such conditions require drivers and motorcyclists alike to exercise caution and maintain safe speeds.

Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Chuadanga Sadar Police Station, said the victim’s relatives had taken the body from the accident scene to his family home.

He added that the police would take further legal action if a complaint was filed.

The incident has left Abdullah’s family facing the sudden loss of a young member whose life was cut short in a road crash. The circumstances surrounding the collision, including the exact cause and responsibility, are expected to be examined if a formal complaint is lodged.
