According to reports and local Nepalese media, the sudden deluge devastated the districts of Nuwakot, Dhading, and Rasuwa. Torrential waters tore through rural valleys, sweeping away homes, bridges, and local roads within hours.

In an official briefing cited by Nepal News, the central spokesperson for Nepal Police, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Abi Narayan Kafle, confirmed that rescue teams have recovered eight bodies from Nuwakot and Dhading districts so far. Search parties continue to scour debris and submerged banks for additional victims as the water levels gradually recede.

The natural disaster has impacted the region’s tourism sector severely, leaving hundreds of travelers unaccounted for in remote trekking corridors. Figures released by the Nepal Tourism Board indicate that at least 384 tourists remain missing across the flood-stricken zones. This group comprises 291 foreign nationals and 93 domestic tourists. Among the missing foreigners, officials confirmed the presence of at least 105 Indian citizens who were travelling through the high-altitude routes when the surge struck.

Emergency responders and security personnel have also suffered significant casualties while managing the crisis. In Rasuwa district, at least 26 officers from the Nepal Police remain missing after their posts were caught in the floodwaters. Additionally, the Armed Police Force reported that seven of its personnel are unaccounted for following rescue operations in the affected terrain.

In response to the growing crisis, the Nepalese Army deployed specialized disaster response units alongside military helicopters to conduct aerial reconnaissance and evacuation missions. Military personnel are working to airlift stranded survivors from isolated pockets where landslide debris has severed ground access. Army officials confirmed that comprehensive damage assessments are underway, though hostile weather and damaged communications infrastructure continue to hinder relief efforts across the region.
