70 More Palestinians Killed in a Single Day by Brutal Israeli Attacks

Seventy more Palestinians have been killed in Gaza within a single day due to ongoing brutal Israeli assaults. At least 385 others have been injured.

Gaza’s Ministry of Health released this information in a statement on Saturday (16 August).

According to the ministry, 70 people were killed in the past 24 hours, with eight bodies recovered from the rubble. Additionally, 385 people have been injured, bringing the total number of injured since Israel’s genocidal campaign began in October 2023 to 155,660.

The Health Ministry also reported 11 new deaths caused by starvation and malnutrition, including one child. This raises the total number of famine-related deaths to 251, of whom 108 were children.

The statement further noted that search and rescue efforts are being severely disrupted. Many victims remain trapped under the rubble or stranded on the streets.

The ministry also reported that Israeli forces are targeting Palestinians attempting to receive humanitarian aid. Over the past 24 hours, 26 people have been killed and 175 injured while trying to collect aid. Since 27 May, Israeli forces have killed 1,924 Palestinians and injured 14,288 more.
