BCB Election: Candidates Submit Nominations for Director Posts

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is preparing for its upcoming Board of Directors election, scheduled for 6 October 2025. Ahead of the election, the nomination process is underway. On Saturday, 27 September, nominations for the director posts are being accepted from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium premises was abuzz from early morning as councillors arrived to submit and purchase forms. By 1:30 PM, several forms had already been bought.

Notable Candidates Submitting Forms

Several other candidates submitted their forms through representatives.

According to the BCB Constitution, the Board of Directors elections are conducted in three main categories:

1. District and Division Category
   • 10 directors elected by councillors from their respective divisions.
   • Distribution:
     • Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna: 2 directors each
     • Barishal, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Rangpur: 1 director each
   • Total councillors in this category: 71
2. Club Category
   • 12 directors elected by 76 councillors
3. University & Association Category
   • 1 director elected by 45 councillors

After the election of the 25-member Board of Directors, the Board will elect its President through a vote among the directors.
