Iran announced on Tuesday that 120 of its nationals, subject to deportation from the United States under former President Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement policies, are scheduled to return home this week.
Hossein Noushabadi, a consular affairs official at Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told the Tasnim news agency: “120 people should be deported and flown home over the next couple of days.”
According to Noushabadi, the US immigration authorities have determined that around 400 Iranians currently residing in the United States will be deported, with the majority of them having entered the country illegally.
