A rickshaw puller tragically lost his life in a road accident in front of the Red Crescent at Hatirjheel in Dhaka earlier today.
The deceased has been identified as Abdul Awal, aged 67, a resident of Bormi village in Sreepur Thana, Gazipur district.
The accident occurred in the early hours when a speeding private car collided with Awal’s rickshaw, leaving him critically injured.
Locals rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), but he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
“The body has been kept at the morgue,” confirmed Inspector Mohammad Faruque, in-charge of the DMCH police camp.

Authorities are investigating the incident, and locals have expressed concern over the reckless driving on Hatirjheel roads, calling for stricter traffic enforcement to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
