Over 11,000 Suspects Arrested in DMP Special Operations Over Six Months

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has reported that its Special Metropolitan Magistrate Court resolved 5,558 cases through summary trial procedures over the past six months, from March to August. During this period, 11,323 suspects were arrested.

This information was disclosed by the DMP in a press release on Sunday, 5 October.

 

According to DMP data, 259 special operations were conducted during this period, resulting in the arrest of 11,323 suspects. Among these:

  • 2,771 individuals were sentenced to imprisonment.
  • A total of BDT 3,050,130 was imposed in fines.

The sentences varied based on the severity of the offence:
