Hero Alom Performs Milk Bath Ritual After Divorcing Wife Riya Moni

Bangladeshi social media personality and actor Hero Alom has formally divorced his wife Riya Moni, following a symbolic milk bath ceremony in Dhaka.

The event took place on Saturday afternoon (18 October) in Aftabnagar’s M Block, where Alom verbally pronounced talaq (divorce) to his wife.

Hero Alom confirmed that the legal documentation for the divorce had already been processed through his lawyer. He stated that following court procedures, Riya Moni would officially receive the divorce papers within three months.

“The paperwork has been completed through my lawyer. Once the court process is finalised, she will receive the documents,” said Alom, speaking to reporters.

He also issued a striking declaration to the public and media: “If I ever again claim Riya Moni as my wife in front of you or the media, you all have the right to beat me with your shoes.”

Earlier that same morning, Hero Alom announced his plans through a Facebook post, writing: “Today, some female fans from different districts are bringing milk to bathe me. After divorcing Riya Moni at Aftabnagar M Block, I will take the milk bath.”

The ritual, which he said symbolised purification and a new beginning, drew widespread attention and criticism across social platforms.

Following the publicised divorce, rumours spread that Hero Alom was preparing to marry again soon. However, he denied these claims.

“I am no longer at the age to remarry. I am only looking for a motherly figure to care for my three children. I cannot raise them alone,” he explained.

He added that his previous marriages had ended in disappointment: “I’ve been married twice before. Both women used me to become famous. They lied to the media, claiming they wanted to be mothers to my children, but their real goal was fame. That’s why those marriages did not last.”
