Husband Dies 11 Hours After Wife — Together Until the End

A heart-wrenching incident has taken place in Kadibari village of Badalgachhi upazila in Naogaon. After 45 years of inseparable companionship, Jalilur Rahman Jalil and his wife Anjuara Begum passed away on the same day. The husband died just 11 hours after the death of his beloved wife.

According to family sources, Jalilur Rahman Jalil Master (75) and Anjuara Begum (65) were married 45 years ago. They had vowed to stay together through every joy and sorrow — a promise they seem to have fulfilled even in death.

On Friday (October 24) at 1:25 p.m., Anjuara Begum died of a heart attack. Hearing the news, Jalilur Rahman was devastated by grief. His health began to deteriorate later in the afternoon, and at 12:25 a.m., he took his last breath while undergoing treatment at Naogaon Medical College Hospital.

Locals said the couple’s love was genuine and deep — they could not imagine life without each other. ‘Perhaps that’s why one couldn’t stay behind after the other was gone,’ said a villager. ‘They lived side by side all their lives, and now they rest together in death.’ The entire village has been left in shock by the couple’s passing within such a short span.

Their youngest son, Md. Rakibul Hasan Rocky, said, ‘Losing both my parents on the same day has left me orphaned. My mother passed away suddenly, and though my father was only slightly unwell, he completely broke down after hearing the news. Shortly after being taken to the hospital, he too left us.’

The story of this couple stands as a testament to true love — that even the final chapter of life can be shared together, just as in their lifetime.
