Authorities are planning to carry out anti-corruption operations in various government agencies as well as private MPO-affiliated schools and colleges across the country. The operations could be conducted through the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
On Sunday (26 October), discussions with officials from the Ministry of Education’s Secondary and Higher Education Division gave indications of such a plan.
Speaking to The Daily Campus on condition of anonymity, a ministry official said, “The ACC usually conducts operations in government schools and colleges. However, irregularities are also observed in the private sector. To curb these, operations through the ACC may be considered. The proposal has come from the top levels of the interim government.”
The official further noted, “This is still at a preliminary stage. If implemented before the 13th national parliamentary elections, it would be ideal. However, once the elections are held, it seems unlikely that this proposal from the Advisory Council will be put into effect.”
