Police have recovered the partially decomposed body of an unidentified woman from the Arial Khan River in Sadarpur, Faridpur.
On Thursday (October 30) at around 5:00 PM, the body was retrieved from the river near Hanif Hazi’s Dangi village in Dhewkhali Union of the upazila.
Locals reported that they saw the body floating in the river at around 3:00 PM and informed the police. Later, the river police from Faridpur arrived at the scene and recovered the body.
SI Md. Abuzar Gafari of Faridpur Kotwali Police Station’s river police, who led the recovery operation, said, “After receiving the information, we went to the site and retrieved the body. It is estimated that the body had been floating in the river for 8–10 days. After the initial examination, the body was sent to Faridpur morgue. Legal procedures are ongoing in this regard.”
Sadarpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sukdev Roy said that the body was recovered by the river police. “We are taking the necessary steps to initiate legal action. Efforts are underway to identify the woman,” he added.
