The victim, Afchar Sheikh, was a farmer. According to his family, Khairul had a history of demanding money from his father to buy drugs. He allegedly used yaba, an illegal stimulant, and frequently pressured his father to provide money to support his addiction.
Family members said tensions between the two had grown over Khairul’s repeated demands for money. Whenever Afchar refused to give him cash, Khairul allegedly assaulted him. Such incidents had reportedly occurred on previous occasions, leaving the family concerned about the recurring disputes.
The situation allegedly took a tragic turn on Thursday afternoon, when Khairul attacked his father with a sharp weapon, causing fatal injuries. Afchar died following the attack. However, the precise circumstances leading to the incident have yet to be established, and the allegations are subject to police investigation.
The incident has caused concern in the local community, particularly over the reported history of drug-related conflict within the family. Drug addiction can place considerable strain on family relationships, especially when repeated demands for money and violent behaviour are involved. However, the exact circumstances of this particular case will need to be established through the investigation.
