Government May Not Survive if BNP Chooses Protest: Gayeshwar Chandra Roy

Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, a member of BNP’s standing committee, said that if BNP takes the path of protest regarding the July certificate issue, the current government may not survive. He stated that BNP is patiently expecting a free and fair election under the current government.

On Sunday (November 2), he spoke to reporters after paying respects at the grave of the late President Ziaur Rahman on behalf of the newly formed full committee of the Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) at Zia Udyan.

Gayeshwar said that the final decision on the July certificate contains many changes and errors. The public has been deceived on this issue and they have realized it. Yet, the chief advisor and the government remain silent.

He added that if BNP takes to the streets, it is doubtful whether the government will survive. Nevertheless, the party is in favor of maintaining a peaceful and stable environment. The government must make the right decision immediately.

Regarding comments from other political parties about BNP, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy said that attempts are being made to create controversy around the party seeing its strong possibility of coming to power in the future. BNP does not consider anyone as a rival.

At the event, DAB’s chief advisor Professor Dr. Farhad Halim Donar, president Professor Dr. Harun Al Rashid, general secretary Dr. Md. Jahirul Islam Shakil, vice president Professor Dr. Abul Kenan, treasurer Dr. Mehedi Hasan, senior joint secretary Dr. A K M Khalekuzzaman Dipu, and office secretary Md. Erfan Ahmed Sohel, among others, were present.
