Haaland Says He Has ‘Never Felt Better’ in His Career

Erling Haaland believes he is in the finest form of his career following a blistering start to the new 2025–26 season, describing his current condition as the best he has ever felt. Representing both Manchester City and the Norwegian national team, the prolific striker has already scored an astonishing 27 goals in just 17 matches across all competitions.

Since joining Manchester City in 2022, Haaland has maintained an extraordinary scoring record. In 160 appearances for the club, he has netted 142 goals, establishing himself as one of the most lethal forwards in modern football. Now, at just 25 years of age, Haaland believes he is performing at the very peak of his abilities.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of City’s upcoming Premier League clash against Liverpool, the Norwegian expressed his delight at his current rhythm and fitness.

“It’s been a really strong start to the season. I feel fantastic, physically and mentally. I think this is the best version of myself so far. Honestly, I’ve never felt this good before,” said Haaland.

Sunday’s fixture will carry special significance, as it marks Pep Guardiola’s 1,000th match in his managerial career. Haaland paid tribute to his manager, acknowledging Guardiola’s influence on his development since arriving in Manchester.

“Since joining City, he’s guided me in every aspect of my game — where to position myself, how to react in different situations, and how to be more efficient in front of goal. He’s Pep Guardiola, a true genius. Working with him has been an incredible experience,” Haaland added.
