Microbus Catches Fire on Jasim Uddin Road in Uttara

A microbus caught fire in Uttara, Dhaka. Two units of the Fire Service later brought the fire under control.

The incident occurred on Wednesday (November 12) at 7:18 am.

Rafi Al Faruk, duty officer at the Fire Service control room, said, “In the morning, we received information about a HICE microbus catching fire on Jasim Uddin Road in Uttara. Our two units reached the site and brought the fire under control. The fire started due to engine overheating.”

He added that no one was injured. According to preliminary assessment by the Fire Service, the fire could also have been caused by a faulty engine or short circuit. The front part of the microbus was burned.

Airport Police Station OC Taslima Akter said, “This is not a terrorist act. The fire occurred due to engine fault while the vehicle was moving. Later, the driver left the vehicle by the roadside and ran around. We could not find him at the scene but later made contact with him.”
