Winter has firmly set in at the foothills of the Himalayas in Panchagarh with the onset of late autumn. The temperature is dropping every day. Although the sun remains bright during the day, evenings bring a noticeable chill. Fog begins to fall at night and lingers lightly to moderately until morning.
Over the past week, the district’s temperature has dropped by about 7 degrees Celsius. At 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Panchagarh recorded the season’s lowest temperature at 12.8 degrees Celsius. On Tuesday morning, the temperature in Tetulia was 14.5 degrees Celsius, while the day before that, the weather office recorded 16.6 degrees Celsius.
As the temperature continues to fall, residents of Panchagarh are feeling the growing bite of winter. However, locals say the true harshness of the cold is yet to come.
