Gold price increased by 5,248 Taka per vori, effective from today

The price of gold in the domestic market has risen again. This time, the price per vori has increased by 5,248 Taka. The new rate for 22-carat gold is now 213,791 Taka per vori.

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced this information in a notice on Thursday (13 November) night.

The new rates will be effective from today, Friday (14 November).

The notice stated that the adjustment in gold prices was made due to the increase in the price of pure gold in the local market.

New gold prices—
22-carat: 213,791 Taka per vori
21-carat: 204,003 Taka per vori
18-carat: 174,855 Taka per vori
Traditional method: 145,520 Taka per vori

The notice also mentioned that the sale price of gold must include a 5 percent government-imposed VAT and a 6 percent minimum wage as set by BAJUS. However, labor charges may vary depending on the design and quality of the jewelry.

Meanwhile, silver prices remain unchanged. The rate for 22-carat silver is 4,246 Taka per vori, 21-carat silver is 4,047 Taka per vori, 18-carat silver is 3,476 Taka per vori, and the traditional method rate is 2,601 Taka per vori.
