Young Man Electrocuted While Irrigating

A young man named Hridoy Mia (25) died after being electrocuted while irrigating in Atpara upazila of Netrokona. The incident occurred around 9 pm on Monday (17 November) beside a canal in Kaliyakhali village under Shunoi Union. Hridoy Mia was the son of Sajlu Mia of the same village.

According to local sources, Hridoy was draining water from the canal at night to catch fish. While connecting the electric line to the irrigation pump, he accidentally touched a live wire and was electrocuted. He was critically injured, and although his family members rushed him towards Netrokona Sadar Hospital, he died on the way.

Pradip Kumar Chakraborty, Investigation Officer of Atpara Police Station, stated that Hridoy Mia died due to electrocution while irrigating. An unnatural death case has been filed at the police station regarding the incident.
