Four More Die from Dengue in a Day, 745 Admitted to Hospital

In the past 24 hours, four more people have died from Aedes mosquito-borne dengue across the country. During the same period, 745 patients have been admitted to hospitals with dengue.

The information was released on Thursday (20 November) by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services.

According to the report, 125 patients were admitted in Barishal division, 89 in Chattogram division, 154 outside Dhaka city corporation, 116 in Dhaka North City, 127 in Dhaka South City, 32 outside Khulna city corporation, 53 outside Mymensingh city corporation, 48 outside Rajshahi city corporation, and one outside Sylhet city corporation.

During the same period, 697 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals. So far this year, 85,267 dengue patients have been discharged.

From January to date, a total of 88,457 patients have been admitted. The death toll from dengue this year has reached 353.

It is noted that from 1 January to 31 December 2024, a total of 101,214 dengue cases were detected, with 575 deaths. In 2023, 1,705 people died from dengue and 321,179 patients were admitted to hospitals.
