Awami League Will No Longer Be Allowed to Do Politics: Ishraq

Ishraq Hossain, the Sheaf of Paddy candidate for Dhaka–6, has said that the Awami League will no longer be allowed to engage in politics in Bangladesh.

He issued this warning on Saturday (22 November) afternoon while addressing a gathering of freedom fighters and descendants of the Liberation War at the Central Shaheed Minar.

During his speech, Ishraq alleged that Sheikh Hasina was attempting to obstruct the election by using clandestine terrorists. He stated that the Awami League would no longer be permitted to conduct political activities in the country.

Calling for unity by setting aside internal differences, he said that division would only weaken them. He warned that if all parties involved in the July movement failed to remain united, external adversaries could turn the nation into a tributary state.

The BNP leader further said that the country must not be allowed to become a tributary state and that everyone must move forward by discarding all divisions for the sake of the nation.
