A fire broke out in a high-rise building at Bijoynagar in the capital. Five units of the Fire Service worked to bring the blaze under control.
The Fire Service received the report of the fire at 3:04 pm on Saturday (22 November). The fire was brought under control by around 3:30 pm.
Rozina Akter, the duty officer at the Fire Service control room, confirmed the incident.
She stated that a fire had been reported in a multi-storey building at Bijoynagar at 3:04 pm. Five units of the Fire Service reached the spot and worked to contain the blaze, which was fully brought under control by 3:30 pm.
The fire originated on the 9th floor of the 10-storey building. The cause of the fire and the extent of damage could not be determined initially, the official added.
