Stable Gold Rates Continue in Bangladesh Market

Gold prices in the country have remained unchanged for several consecutive days. After the latest price reduction on Friday (20 November), the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has not made any further changes.

On Monday (24 November), gold continued to be sold in the domestic market at the previously announced rates. BAJUS stated that the price of acid gold (pure gold) in the local market had declined, and considering the overall situation, new rates were set.

According to the latest adjustment, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori now stands at Tk 208,167. The price of 21-carat gold is Tk 198,696 per bhori, while 18-carat gold is selling at Tk 170,318 per bhori. Traditional method gold is priced at Tk 141,648 per bhori.

As per the BAJUS notice, 5 percent government-imposed VAT and BAJUS-fixed minimum making charge of 6 percent must be added to the sale price of gold jewellery. Additionally, making charges may vary depending on design and quality.

Meanwhile, silver prices have also remained unchanged. The rate for 22-carat silver is Tk 4,246 per bhori, 21-carat silver Tk 4,047, 18-carat silver Tk 3,476, and traditional method silver Tk 2,601 per bhori.
