The 74th Miss Universe competition was held in Thailand, where Bangladesh’s model and actress Tanjia Zaman Mithila participated. After the event, she has returned to the country.
On Tuesday (25 November) at 3:30 pm, Mithila arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka. Speaking to journalists at the airport, she first thanked everyone who supported and voted for her.
Mithila said, “Participating in Miss Universe allowed me to see and learn everything up close. The most important thing is that Bangladesh has won in spirit, even if not the crown.” She added, “I believe everyone in the top 30 has the potential to reach the final and the ability to carry the Miss Universe crown. I am proud of this journey. I will fully support anyone who participates in the future.”
Mithila competed in the grand final on 21 November. Although she did not win the crown, she made history in the competition. She placed third in the People’s Choice category among contestants from 121 countries and secured a spot in the top 30.
Mithila stars as the lead female character in the Bollywood film ‘Rohingya,’ opposite ‘Mr. Bhutan’ Sange. The movie is directed by Bollywood filmmaker and photographer Haider Khan. It has been made in both Rohingya and Hindi languages and is produced by Lion Production.
